According to US Lacrosse, an All-American player is one who "exhibits superior skills and techniques as well as possessing exceptional game sense and knowledge of the game of lacrosse. This player should also embody good sportsmanship."
In additional to exhibiting superior skills and techniques, exceptional game sense, good sportsmanship and outstanding knowledge of the game of lacrosse, every player being nominated for US Lacrosse Girl's High School All-American Final Nomination must meet all of the criteria listed below to even be considered:
Players must be a member of the current season's All-State, All-County, or All-District team OR 1st or 2nd team member of the National Tournament Sub-Regional Team.
The Head Coach of the players' team must be a current member of US Lacrosse.
Players must have played in 2/3 of their teams' games.
Players must be starters or significant contributors.
Players must not exceed the allotted number of penalty points (regular season only). (yellow and red cards)
