Parker Jackson Memorial Scholarship
What: The Parker Jackson Memorial Scholarship award has been established by and will be funded by the Milton Lacrosse Booster Club in honor of and in memory of Parker Jackson a member of the Milton Lacrosse Team who was tragically and suddenly taken from us in November of 2006. There will be a $1,000 scholarship awarded to one eligible student athlete from the girls program and one $1,000 scholarship awarded to an eligible student athlete from the boys program.
Who is eligible: All senior class members of the Milton Lacrosse Program, both from the boys program and from the girls program.
Process: All eligible names will be screened by Milton faculty, and Milton Lacrosse coaches. The scholarships will be presented to the student athlete at the year end banquets.
Criteria: The scholarship winners will be chosen on a number of criteria based upon their performance and presence in the classroom, on the lacrosse field and in the community. The winner should…
- WORK ETHIC/INTEGRITY: Works hard in the classroom and on the lacrosse field, that person that is always willing to go the extra mile to get more out of their ability than anyone else. Acts always with unyielding integrity.
- ATTITUDE: The type of student/athlete that his or her teammates and classmates look up to, not because of their ability but because of attitude and leadership.
- INCLUSIVENESS: Builds a connection with the team and with classmates through personal involvement & trust … inspires people around them to perform at a higher level.
- ACCOUNTABILITY: Considers the consequences of activities and decisions on family, teammates, classmates, school, sport and community. A student/athlete that is viewed by coaches & teachers as respectful and one who sets a positive example.
- CONSIDERATE/FUN: A student that is willing to give of themselves & their talents off the field & outside of the classroom. A student who knows how to have fun and can make people around them laugh.
- Be college bound
